What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

Keep in mind: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions listed below. We plan to evaluate the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may show helpful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, however it offers a supple cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness. Given its innate durability, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.

These bed mattress were also examined in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of professionals in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; gone to lots of bed mattress display rooms, factories, and stores; and read the small print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do understand that the company utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column support”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and durable foams and coils.
