What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.

Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences below. We plan to test the new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is intrinsically durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove handy if you’re uncertain what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, but it uses a supple cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Given its inherent toughness, the Zenhaven needs to work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. However we do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (instead of fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
