What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.

Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We plan to test the new version soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show practical if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements change over time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, however it uses a flexible cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of experts in the mattress industry and in materials science; visited lots of mattress stores, showrooms, and factories; and read the small print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with an option of firmness levels and dealing with nearly every convenience preference– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Saatva Vs Serta Perfect Sleeper
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. But we do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and resilient foams and coils.
