What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Saatva Motion Transfer
Individuals who are quickly awoken when their partner stirs may find the Saatva transfers more motion than ideal People who like the hug of memory foam may not feel the Saatva adheres carefully enough The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid models. Instead, it utilizes an additional layer of springs within the
Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions below. We plan to check the new variation quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove handy if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it provides a supple cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the mattress market and in materials science; gone to lots of mattress factories, stores, and showrooms; and pored over the great print on specs, warranties, and return policies.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. However we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and resilient foams and coils.
