What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.

Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We prepare to evaluate the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is inherently long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which might prove handy if you’re unsure what you choose or if your needs change in time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its innate durability, the Zenhaven must work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were likewise evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of specialists in the mattress market and in products science; checked out lots of bed mattress factories, stores, and showrooms; and pored over the fine print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
