What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, lowering how much movement is felt throughout the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva soaks up somewhat more movement than the Luxury Firm and Company choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm version.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences below. We plan to test the new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a conventionally cushy bed mattress, however it uses a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These bed mattress were also examined in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I have actually spoken with scores of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited dozens of bed mattress display rooms, shops, and factories; and pored over the fine print on specifications, warranties, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– lots of with a choice of firmness levels and accommodating almost every comfort choice– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Ikea 80X200 Mattress
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. But we do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and resilient foams and coils.
