What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.

The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some motion, reducing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva soaks up a little more movement than the Luxury Company and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions listed below. We plan to evaluate the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might show valuable if you’re uncertain what you prefer or if your needs change gradually. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its inherent sturdiness, the Zenhaven should work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own home. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I have actually talked to ratings of professionals in the mattress market and in products science; gone to lots of bed mattress shops, factories, and showrooms; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. But we do know that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and resilient foams and coils.
